中秋佳節，關懷長者

在這個特別的中秋佳節，我們舉辦了一場充滿愛與溫暖的活動，共有18位長者參加，與我們一起包製月餅，分享彼此的故事與祝福。每一個月餅都是愛的象徵，傳遞了對長者的尊重與關懷。

特別感謝銀杏館捐贈的愛心月餅，讓聾人長者們能夠在這個佳節中感受到社會的溫暖與關懷！

Caring for the Elderly this Mid-Autumn Festival

This special Mid-Autumn Festival, we held a warm and loving event with 18 seniors attending. Together, we made mooncakes and shared our stories and blessings. Each mooncake symbolizes love and conveys our respect and care for the elderly.

A special thanks to Yinxing Pavilion for donating heartfelt mooncakes for the elderly with hearing impairments!

在這個象徵團圓與分享的中秋佳節，我們特別感謝銀杏館捐贈300個月餅給聾人家庭！這份善舉不僅為他們的節日增添了甜蜜，也傳遞了社會的溫暖與關懷。

中秋節是與家人團聚的時刻，而銀杏館的捐贈讓更多家庭感受到節日的快樂與幸福。我們希望透過這樣的活動，能夠喚起大家對聾人子女的關注，讓每個孩子都能在這個美好的節日裡，感受到愛與包容。

Mid-Autumn Festival: Thank You to Gingko House 🌕

During this Mid-Autumn Festival, a time that symbolizes reunion and sharing, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Ginkgo House for donating 300 mooncakes to deaf families! This kind gesture adds sweetness to their celebrations and conveys warmth and care from the community.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for family reunions, and Ginkgo House's donation allows more families to experience the joy and happiness of this special occasion. We hope that through such initiatives, we can raise awareness about the needs of children with hearing impairments, ensuring that every child feels love and inclusion during this beautiful festival.

映後分享活動回顧

我們分別於2024年6月15日及8月31日主辦兩場聾人家庭放映會《手勢的橋樑》🎬，一共超過百人參加，完滿結束。感謝所有參與者出席活動，聾與健共同探討了電影所呈現的聾人家庭生活挑戰，並加深了對手語及其重要性的理解。

在導演的問答環節中，參與者們熱情發言，分享了自己的感受與見解，讓這次活動變得更加豐富與有意義！🤝💬

我們感謝每一位參與者的支持與貢獻，期待未來能有更多這樣的活動，讓大家一起交流和成長！💖

在此衷心感謝導演及監製何明偉、方禮志及製作團隊聾人子女（CODA) 記錄片，以及自在社創辦人周華山博士支持，協辦放映籌款活動，推動聾人家庭的教育意識。

Post-Screening Event Review

We successfully hosted two screenings of the film Bridge of Signs 🎬 on June 15 and August 31, 2024, with 120 participants. Thank you to all attendees for your enthusiastic support! The event allowed both deaf and hearing individuals to discuss the challenges faced by deaf families and deepen their understanding of sign language and its importance.

During the Q&A session with the director, participants actively shared their feelings and insights, making the event even more enriching and meaningful! 🤝💬
We sincerely appreciate the support and contributions of every participant, and we look forward to more events like this that foster communication and growth! 💖

A special thanks to director and producer Arthur Ho, Richie Fang and the filming team for creating the CODA documentary, as well as Dr. Chou Wah Shan , founder of Dream Possiblet supports and co-hosting the fundraising screening, which promotes awareness of education for deaf family.

長者關懷小組

中心定期舉辦長者關懷小組，邀請社區義工協助，教導長者利用彈力帶，進行基礎拉伸及力量鍛鍊，又分享樂悠卡等生活資訊，幫助長者融入社區，保持身心靈健康。另外，針對聾人生活需要，特別邀請警方代表介紹及安裝HKSOS緊急救援手機應用程式使用，並安排即場手語傳譯協助溝通，便利聾人在緊急情況下求助，回應他們日常生活所需。

Senior Care Group
The center regularly hosts a senior care group, inviting community volunteers to assist in teaching seniors how to use elastic bands for basic stretching and strength training. They also share information about resources such as the JoyYou Card, helping seniors integrate into the community and maintain their physical and mental well-being. Additionally, to address the needs of the deaf community, the center specifically invites police representatives to introduce and assist in the installation of the HKSOS emergency rescue mobile application, arranging on-site sign language interpretation to facilitate communication. This helps the deaf community seek assistance in emergencies, responding to their daily living needs.

「向公營機構推廣無障礙環境外展計劃」

本會參與「向公營機構推廣無障礙環境外展計劃」，定期為不同政府部門舉辦無聲體驗講座，講座由聾人及CODA導師主持。講座還會介紹聾人及CODA文化、聽力損失成因及教授簡單手語，希望能藉此提高大眾對聾人社群的關注和認識。過去一季，計劃受惠對象包括醫管局、漁農處、地政署、公務員事務局等，每場均有10-50人參與。

Our organization participates in the "Promotion of Barrier-Free Environment Outreach Program for Public Institutions." We regularly hold silent experience seminars for various government departments, led by deaf instructors and CODA (Children of Deaf Adults) instructors. These seminars also introduce deaf and CODA culture, the causes of hearing loss, and teach basic sign language, with the hope of raising public awareness and understanding of the deaf community. In the past quarter, the beneficiaries of the program included the Hospital Authority, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, the Lands Department, and the Civil Service Bureau, with each session having 10 to 50 participants.

「M+藏品通達遊」

本會於2月中旬舉行「M+藏品通達遊」，反應踴躍，近30人參加。會員不但能免費參觀「M+」博物館，還有導賞員逐一介紹場內展品，最後更可以親身體驗藝術創作。是次活動讓聾人無障礙地接觸藝術，提高藝術展覽的通達性。

Our association held the "M+ Collection Accessibility Tour" in mid-February, which received enthusiastic responses with nearly 30 participants. Members were able not only to visit the "M+" museum for free, but also had guides introduce the exhibits one by one. Lastly, they could even experience art creation firsthand. This event allowed the deaf community to access art without barriers, enhancing the accessibility of art exhibitions.

CODA Hong Kong 2024年春季手語證書課程已正式開課﹐獲一眾有志認識手語的有心人報名參加。CODA HK的手語證書課程共分為3階段﹐由淺入深並由聾人及CODA授教。手語的文化獨特﹑多變及有趣﹐所以我們鼓勵不論健聽還是聽障人士都可以一起參與體驗﹐完成課程後更可加入「手語義工小組」﹐為創造共融社會出一分力。

CODA HK's “2024 Q1 Sign Language Course” has officially started, we have received sign-ups from the public who are interested in learning sign language. Our sign language course is divided into three levels, from easy to advanced. Each class is taught by the deaf or CODA. The culture of sign is unique, diversify and interesting, we encourage everyone to participate. After completing the course, attendees are welcomed to join the “Sign Language Voluntary Group” to give support to the deaf and create a more inclusive society.

KODA 聖誕親子樂繽紛 2023

聖誕節這個普天同慶的大日子，當然要一起好好慶祝並將歡樂及祝福帶給身邊的人。CODA HK於12月23日在中心舉辦了親子聖誕聯歡會。除了一起做小手工之外，還有集體遊戲及禮物派發。家長和小朋友都十分盡興。

Christmas is a meaningful festival that full of joy and blessing, and we always celebrate it together with our family and friends by sending love and regards. CODA HK held the Christmas Party at our centre on Dec 23rd. We made crafts together, played group games and shared gifts. Our parents and KODA members are all very delighted.

CODA HEART 是一個屬於CODA服務的社群，凝聚有心志服務聾人子女及其家人的義工。CODA HEART互助小組不僅從自身成長經歷去服務社群，而且藉著珍惜彼此同路人的微妙關係，建立團隊力量，互相支持。這群CODA互相交流分享、情理兼備，積極學習關於雙語文化、家庭系統及生命成長的知識，體驗同心、同行、同成長的團隊力量，讓CODA社群增值，也讓自身與夥伴建立友誼，在鼓勵和關懷中成長。CODA HEART透過定期聚會及活動凝聚聾人子女在一起。大家雖然來自不同家庭﹐有著不同的故事﹐但藉著同路人身分互相支持並了解彼此。

CODA Heart is a community of CODA service group, it gathers CODA who committed to serve CODA and their families. As CODA volunteers, not only serving from our growth experience, but they also cherish the delicate relationship of being fellows, to build team spirit, support each other and transmit energy to the community. CODA Heart community love and embrace themselves, deliver love to those around. Through sharing and caring, CODA HEART get to learn deeply about bilingual culture, family and life growth relationship.

CODA Heart brings CODA together through frequent gatherings and activities. All CODAs come from different family with their own story, securing a place for them in CODA Heart is a kind of support and the cohesion of CODA Heart is magically created by CODA fellows.

手語傳譯_政府手語新聞

香港聾人子女協會 (“CODA HK”) 一直致力推動手語普及化，亦積極參與翻譯工作，希望聾人社群能在更共融的社區環境下享有更優質的生活。除了聾人家庭日常的手語翻譯工作，CODA HK亦不時為政府新聞處的報導進行手語傳譯工作。

CODA HK has always been committed to promoting the popularization of sign language, we actively involved in sign language interpretation and we are hoping that the deaf can enjoy a better quality of life in a more inclusive community. In addition to daily sign language interpretation work for deaf families, CODA HK also provides sign language interpretation work for Information Services Department, HKSAR Region Government.

CODA HK 親子單車遊 - (2023/12)

CODA HK 除了關注聾人家庭及CODA們的身心健康之外, 亦希望大家有強健的體魄。運動除了可以令我們更健康，同時亦有益身心。CODA HK於12月10日舉辦親子單車遊，邀請聾人父母和子女一起踏單車。當日天氣晴朗，10組聾人家庭, 一行29人由大埔出發經吐露港及科學園，沿途景色優美，大家都十分享受。我們非常鼓勵父母有空多抽時間和子女一起做運動，除了有益身心以外，更加可以促進親子關係，加強大家之間的默契和溝通。

CODA HK cares about mental health of our members, in addition, we also care their physical health. Exercises can help us be more healthy. CODA HK held the Family Cycling Day on Dec 10th, we invited 10 families and their kids which total 29 members to cycle together. The weather was sunny and nice, we set off from Tai Po and went through Science Park and Tolo Harbour. The scenery along the way was beautiful and everyone enjoyed it. We encourage parents to exercise more with kids in their spare time, it is good for both mental and physical health and most importantly to strengthen the Parent-Child bonding and communication.

第12屆香港國際聾人電影節

第12屆香港國際聾人電影節已於2023年12月3日完滿結束，香港聾人子女協會有幸獲邀以嘉賓身分出席盛會。是次活動展示來自世界各地以聾人為主題的電影作品，作品帶出深層意義並大大提昇大眾社會對聾人的了解及關注。香港國際聾人電影節亦多面地宣揚這個多元社群：聾人社群擁有自己的語言、文化、歷史、文學和藝術，我們冀將來社會對聾人社群有更深的認識與支持。在此再次多謝邀請CODA HK出席。

The 12th Hong Kong International Deaf Film Festival has successfully concluded on 3rd December, 2023. CODA HK is honored to be invited as a guest to attend the event. This event showcases deaf-themed films from around the world, which all bring meaningful messages. It greatly enhances the social awareness of deaf people from the society. It is much appreciated that the event promotes this diverse community - the deaf community has its own language, culture, history, literature and art which is unique and valuable. We hope the society will get to know more about the deaf and keep supporting the deaf in the future. Once again, thanks much for the invitation.

家長小組花絮 - 2023年10月份

10月份的家長小組 <<身心健康我有計>>活動已完畢。是次活動由小組導師家帶領長們一起製作多種小手作, 包括: 輕黏土畫, 摺紙, 土耳奇杯墊, 手語字母卡。當小朋友每周六在CODA HK另一邊廂進行言語治療或遊戲小組的時候, 家長們便可以放鬆心情, 跟導師及其他家長們一起做手工及交流。

你們看, 家長們多認真及專注去完成每一件小作品! :)

The Parents Workshop in Oct 2023 was successfully completed. The group tutors of CODA HK and parents worked together to make a variety of handcrafts, such as light clay painting, origami, turkish coaster, sign language flash cards. When their little KODAs were having the speech therapy or playgroup at the other side, parents can relax and enjoy the self-moment by sharing with other parents and making their own interesting mini handcrafts.

幼兒言語訓練小組 (2023/10-11)

CODA HK一直關注聾人家庭子女的言語發展, 因為幼兒愈早接受言語訓練對他們將來的語言發展有莫大的幫助, 愈早接受訓練除了協助KODA們打好言語基礎, 也令他們學會上課的基本規矩, 為入讀幼稚園或升小學作準備。CODA HK的言語治療小組由言語治療師執教並有2位助教協助課堂, 採用小班教學, 針對幼兒KODA需要進行言語訓練。

課堂上老師會教導日常生活的字詞及發音, 以互動遊戲方式引發幼兒學習語言動機, 同時亦會糾正幼兒的發音。我們很高興, 經過數次小組後, 很多KODA小朋友已有顯注進步, 而且因表達能力改善了, 情緒上亦有明顯改善, CODA HK很高興看到他們的轉變, 希望能幫助更多有需要的KODA。

CODA HK has always been concerned about the speech development of KODAs. We believe receiving speech training at their early stage helps KODAs lay a good foundation, they can also learn rules in the CODA HK’s classroom which is very useful for preparing ahead for their school life. The Speech Therapy at CODA HK is led by a recognized speech therapist with 2 teaching assistants to assist in the lesson. Small group teaching to make sure we can focus on KODAs’ training needs.

Teacher teaches daily vocabularies and sight words as well as the most common used sounds in daily life, stimulate KODA's motivation to learn how to speak through interactive games and correct their pronunciation when needed.

We are glad that after several sessions, KODAs have noticed significant improvement, and with their better expression, their emotion has also improved. CODA HK is very delighted to see their transformation and hope to help more KODAs in need.

功課輔導班 (SEN學童)

我們了解SEN學童於學習上有特殊需要, 比其他小朋友需要更多時間去吸收及消化知識。CODA HK會協助聾人子女SEN學童單對單補習, 導師可更深入了解學童的學習困難。1:1的形式有助導師可以循序漸進, 由淺入深去教導及解釋。同時, 導師亦會關顧及留意學童的情緒, 現時學童的學習壓力相當大, 引導他們緩解情緒亦十分重要。

CODA HK understands the special needs of SEN child, they need more time on learning. CODA HK provides 1-on-1 tutorials for SEN Koda, it allows the teacher to have a deeper understanding about their learning difficulties and the area they need to improve. Via the 1:1 session, the teacher will guide the child and explain the complex things by simple concept step by step. Meanwhile, the teacher will keep eyes on their emotion. Intensive learning brings huge pressure on children, it is very important to guide them to relieve their emotions.

「心繫家庭」家長教育講座及工作坊

由香港家長教育學會主辦﹑香港賽馬會慈善信託基金捐助的「心繫家庭」第二階段家長教育計劃展開。10月份於CODA HK會址進行了2場親職講座及1次成長工作坊﹐講者及培訓導師為香港家庭教育學會專業顧問及委員。

兩次講座的主題圍繞重拾父母思維親職﹐希望藉此教育聾人父母﹐認識父母在家庭中的角色及親職；而成長工作坊則透過活動令聾人父母可以更明白孩子的需要﹐令親子關係更加融洽。

Organized by the Hong Kong Parent Education Association (HKPEA) and supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the second phase of the "Family Care" Parent Education Program was launched. In October, two seminars and one workshop were held at the CODA HK centre. The speaker is consultant and committee member of HKPEA.

The topic of these two seminars is about regaining parental thinking, hoping to educate deaf parents about the parent’s role in the family. The workshop enables deaf parents to better understand their children's needs and enhance their parent-child relationship.

親親中秋節 23/9/2023

中秋節是家人團聚的節日, CODA HK舉辦了「親親中秋節」的親子活動, 邀請多個聾人家庭一起共慶中秋。小朋友與家長互相合作, 猜燈謎, 摺紙兔再一起製作燈籠。小朋友手舞足蹈, 用盡混身解數向父母翻譯燈題。摺紙兔的時候, 大小朋友都細心觀察, 一步步按著導師指導學習。在各個小活動中, 發現原來KODA都有很強的表達能力, 而且動靜佳宜, 亦很樂於與父母以手語及身體語言細細溝通。雖然大家平時生活忙碌, 各自要兼顧工作或學業實在不容易, 但只要花點點時間相處, 親子關係就可邁進一大步。這次「親親中秋節」的親子活動十分成功, 大家都樂在其中, CODA HK 祝大家中秋節快樂!

Mid-Autumn Festival is a family reunion festive. CODA HK organized this activity to celebrate together with CODA family. Parent and Koda collaborated for several activities like playing riddle game, origami and doing handcraft together. KODAs are very energetic, they spent all efforts to translate the riddle to parent. When doing handcraft, they were patient to follow the steps with instructor's guidance. We found they potentially have strong expression competence and they are adapted to various scense in the activity. KODAs are flexible and willing to use both sign and body language to communicate with their parents. Life is busy, but spending quality time is always a big step forward for family relation. We are happy the event was successful and everyone enjoyed it. Happy Mid-Autumn Festival !
